Great Places for Quality Health Care

Charlottesville, VA

This historic college town, close to where Thomas Jefferson retired, is a major regional health care center.   There are two hospitals, the Martha Jefferson Hospital and the University of Virginia Hospital, and one long-term care facility, the Piedmont Health Care Center, to service this community of 45,000 (60,000 when classes are in session).  Undoubtedly, having the University of Virginia Hospital here contributes to the high number of physicians in the county.   There are 46 general practitioners, 185 medical specialists and 130 surgeons serving the Charlottesville area.  If you become ill, this is the place to do it.
