The Residences at Bulle Rock ~ 1250 Bulle Rock Parkway ~ Havre de Grace, MD 21078

Former Horse Farm Now an Elegant Active Adult Community

A rich horse-breeding heritage, a top-rated golf course and a small-town ambiance, all found on 1,000 lush acres along the Chesapeake Bay, make this age-targeted, master-planned community a place many soon-to-be retirees and retirees will want to call home.  Named after the first thoroughbred ever brought to the United States, Bulle Rock sits on an old horse farm and names its streets and neighborhoods after race horses and famous race tracks.   Not too long ago, some of the nation's finest racers were galloping through the rolling hills surrounding this graceful gated community.

Bulle Rock is an up and coming resort with plans to build 25 separate but connected neighborhoods.  When building is complete (2012 is the scheduled completion date), 2100 single-family homes, town homes and condominiums will cluster around the 7,375  yard, Pete Dye-designed championship golf course (the 2005 McDonald's LPGA Championship took place here).  Planned amenities include a residents-only marina and yacht club, a two-story, 37,000 square foot community center with indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, a spa and a cardiovascular center.  Walking and bicycling paths will provide plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the sumptuous surroundings.  As for climate, this area sees summer temperatures in the high 70s and winter temperatures in the mid 30s .

Condominiums are priced from roughly $245,000, and single-family homes are starting at about $385,000 and running into the upper $400,000s.  The one-level condos have two models open and offer 1,658 square feet, two bedrooms and two baths, a balcony or patio, a spacious sunroom, a sitting room, ceramic tile, marble vanity tops, a large storage closet and energy-efficient gas heat.  The least expensive single-family homes have 2,094 square feet with two bedrooms and two baths.  The higher-end single-family homes offer nearly 3,000 square feet, three bedrooms and two baths.

The heart of Bulle Rock will be the stately community center where residents can gather for dining and socializing.   With historic Havre de Grace (population 12,000) just a few minutes down the road, waterfront shopping and dining is always available.    For information, call 410-939-8700.
